Commercial contracts - Commercial agency

Richard Ryde has thirty years' experience in commercial contract matters, both contentious and non-contentious.

He has particular experience in the field of commercial agency contracts, particularly in the domain of aeronautics, engineering and defence. In the field of commercial agency, he has dealt with many cases involving questions of rights to commission and post-termination compensation.

He also deals with contracts for the sale of goods, distribution contracts, joint ventures and other forms of commercial or industrial cooperation.

In this domain, he has dealt with many forms of contracts (including long-term contracts and framework contracts) and has treated problems of termination, breach, conformity or quality, late deliveries and the evaluation of commercial  loss.

His experience concerns principally manufactured goods although he is also able to deal with sales of commodities and connected problems of transport and documentation.

On the contentious side of his practice, he has acted for parties in litigation, arbitration and mediation.

His experience of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts enables him to draft contracts specifically adapted to the client's needs, drawing on his experience of practical difficulties which arise in this area.
